This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) describes activities that are not permitted on WebClub’s services. It exists to protect our customers, our infrastructure and the wider internet. It forms part of our Terms of Service, and by using our services you agree to follow it. We may update it from time to time.
Prohibited content
You may not use our services to store, host, transmit or link to content that:
- is illegal, or promotes or facilitates illegal activity;
- infringes the copyright, trademark, patent or other intellectual-property or privacy rights of others;
- is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or incites violence or hatred;
- is child sexual abuse material or otherwise sexually exploits minors (such content is reported to authorities immediately);
- contains malware, viruses, or code designed to harm or gain unauthorised access to systems.
Prohibited activities
- Spam & unsolicited email — sending bulk or unsolicited email, or operating mailing lists without verifiable opt-in consent;
- Phishing & fraud — deceptive activity intended to obtain personal or financial information;
- Hacking & abuse — unauthorised access, port scanning, denial-of-service attacks, or attempts to breach security of any system or network;
- Resource abuse — activity that places an excessive or disproportionate load on shared infrastructure and degrades service for others (e.g. cryptocurrency mining, abusive scripts, or using a shared plan as a backup/file-storage dump);
- Proxies & high-risk services — open proxies, anonymous relays or similar services that facilitate abuse.
Email & anti-spam
You are responsible for ensuring your email use complies with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and the laws of your recipients’ jurisdictions, including obtaining consent and providing a clear unsubscribe mechanism.
Security responsibilities
Keep your software, plugins and passwords up to date and secure. Compromised accounts that are being used to send spam or host malware may be suspended to protect the network, and you are responsible for cleaning up the issue.
Enforcement
If we believe a violation has occurred, we may remove offending content, throttle or suspend the service, or terminate the account, with or without notice depending on the severity and any legal obligations. We will use reasonable judgement and, where practical, give you an opportunity to resolve the issue.
